Bathroom and Study for an Artist in London

The renovation of this bathroom was a project steeped in thoughtful design, tailored to enhance its functionality, while maintaining an aesthetic harmony with its surroundings. Located in a London home, our goal was to blend practicality with artistic flair.

It included the installation of a new bathtub, the optimization of storage space, and addressed previous water damage and drainage problems.

To maintain continuity with the connected hallway and living room, we introduced a colour scheme that seamlessly flowed through the spaces. Light blue tiles created a soothing two-tone effect, complemented by vibrant black taps, a shower fixture, and a sleek shower screen.

A significant aspect of the renovation involved raising the ceiling and recessing the bathtub to ensure ample standing room for showering. Working closely with the contractor, adjustments were meticulously coordinated for light fittings to accommodate existing ceiling beams, ensuring a cohesive and visually appealing result that delighted our clients.

Innovative space-saving solutions were integrated into the design, such as a paper towel holder discreetly housed within a mirrored cabinet, dispensing from the bottom, and a hidden toilet paper holder concealed within a cupboard door. These details contributed to a minimalist aesthetic while injecting playful touches through colourful artwork.

Adjacent to the bathroom, our design journey extended into the study, where we crafted a bespoke Murphy bed ideal for occasional guest stays. This multifunctional unit incorporated a wardrobe and bookshelves, ensuring efficient use of space. When not in use, the bed transforms into a stylish sofa overlooking a serene courtyard. The deep navy hue of the unit harmonized with the brass accents of the handles and light fitting, with the colour contrast of the cushions, adds a refined and inviting atmosphere to the room.
